TRIM BALANCING
High vibration at running speed does not automatically mean a rotor needs balancing. Misalignment, a bent shaft and other faults can produce similar symptoms, so identifying the cause is the first step. This video explains single-plane field balancing, from recording the original vibration and measuring the response to a known trial weight, to calculating and installing the correction. Using vibration vectors, we explore how correction mass and position are determined—and what a balancing analyzer is calculating.
